ANOVA Models

There is a lot of mention in the Statistixl help file about the three models (I, II, III) of ANOVA, but it doesn't seem to explain how to change the model. When I choose to do an ANOVA it seems to be preset on model I (fixed) but I want to use model III (mixed) - Can anyone please tell me how to do this?
cheers,
J

    Interesting question!

The best I can work out is that you an indicate which factors are fixed by using ordinary names, and which are random by appending [R] to the name of the factor. StatistiXL then appears to choose model based on whether the factors are fixed or random.

Anyway, that is my initial guess...

  • Thanks Lance, will give that a go,
    cheers.
  • Sorry I missed this one. Yes that is the only way to do it in statistiXL.

    Cheers
